Event Description:
Oatman, Arizona will be having its 24th annual GREAT OATMAN BED RACE along Main Street on the historic and world famous Route 66. There will be a brief parade of contestants before the bed races starting at 12:45PM followed by the bed races at 1PM.
The BED RACE is a spirited contest of team of 5 people. Each team will have a person riding on the bed (provided by the Oatman Chamber of Commerce) and 4 people pushing the bed down Main Street in the fastest time possible where they have to change the bedding and then return to the beginning. The fastest time wins!
There will be cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers and prizes for the best costume and showmanship.
Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Entry fee is $50 per team.
