Name: 2nd Annual Unity Walk & Community Shred
Date: January 20, 2014
Event Description:
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Colorado River are once again commemorating the MLK Day of Service with a community-wide celebration known as the “2nd Annual Unity Walk & Community Shred” on Monday, January 20, 2014.

Besides our community partners who are again making the event possible, much of the financial support is through grant funding from the Cesar Chavez Foundation.
BGCCR President and CEO Teri Tomlinson says this unique event is especially tailored to commemorate the MLK Day of Service. "We're planning pretty much the same type of awareness event that we hosted last year, with tolerance and unity being the central themes," Tomlinson added.

During the event, Club members and the community can participate in a one mile walk, followed by activities, face painting, games, a bounce house and community shred.

The Club's partners for the event include Mohave Shred, Kiwanis Key Clubs from MALC, Mohave, River Valley and Laughlin High Schools, the Bullhead City Recreation Department, the Laughlin High School Interact Club, the Bullhead City Police and Fire departments, Southern Nevada Transit Coalition (Silver Rider), Bullhead City Elks Lodge #2408, Valley View Medical Center and Western Arizona Regional Medical Center.
