Colorado River Museum Presentation
Event Description:
The Colorado River Historical Society and Museum presents Margaret Soto Perry.
In 1916 the Soto's bought what was called the Old Mexican Ranch and part of the adjoining Martin Ranch on the Colorado River bottoms. At one time they had over 7,000 cattle that ranged over a huge area from Topock to Bullhead City, east up to Silver Creek in the Oatman hills and to Goldroad.
The Soto's used the Quarter Circle I brand. They had 7 children of their own. In the early days the first children went to school at the Fort Mojave Indian School. Later the Soto's dedicated 40 acres for a school near the ranch and for many years the teacher lived at the Soto home.
Come hear the fascinating story of Bullhead City from one of our very own "founding" families.
