Kingman Wine Festival
Event Description:
5th Annual Kingman Wine & Food Festival Looks to Break Fundraising Record
“Wine country” may not be the first thing you envision when you think of the Heart of Route 66 in Kingman, Arizona. Known for the Historic Mother Road that runs through its center and at times, no more than a stop on the way to or from Las Vegas, Kingman is getting set to host the largest wine festival in Mohave County history.
The 5th Annual Kingman Wine Festival & Car Show will be held on Saturday, May 16 with gates opening at 11:00am. Set to host at least 13 of Arizona’s best wineries, this event is also one of the first of its kind to feature Arizona distilleries Tombstone and Desert Diamond Distillery. The local chapter of the Mohave Community College Foundation is organizing the event with proceeds funding scholarships for local students. “We believe in our vision to change lives in our community through education” states Liza Noland, president of the Kingman chapter. “We also believe in the Kingman community and feel strongly that if enough people come to see how we’ve grown, so will the reputation of the Heart of Route 66.”
In addition to the wineries and distilleries, a classic car show runs adjacent to the park. Food vendors, retailers and live music will also accompany the event. Tickets go on sale on April 15 for $20 and will be available the day of the event for $25. Visit www.kingmanwinefestival.com for more information or call 480.550.0016.
