9 AM – 12 PM: BOOKKEEPING BASICS
Guest Speaker: Ray Williams of YDWK, LLC
BOOKKEEPING: What is bookkeeping? Why keep the books? How do you keep the books? What is reconciling a bank account? Why reconcile? This class will also cover types of accounts, double-entry accounting, accounting basis of Cash vs. Accrual), Financial Reports and common government returns.
 
12PM – 1PM: Boxed Lunch provided by Community Financial Wellness
 
1 PM – 4 PM: PAYROLL
Guest Speaker: Hilary Williams
PAYROLL: Discover the laws pertaining to payroll reporting to the various Government Agencies: Social Security Administration, AZ Department of Revenue and the US Treasury. You will learn about the basic internal controls and software needed for any successful business.  In this workshop, you will get hands-on training on processing payroll with 2 sample employees’ timesheets. You will leave with workable knowledge about, overtime, reimbursements, holiday pay and much more.
